Pluronic L61 is a surface-active block copolymer ending in primary hydroxyl groups. It is a nonionic surfactant that is 100% active.
Pluronic L61 is formed by adding propylene oxide to propylene glycol to form a polymer of the appropriate size, and then capping each end with ethylene oxide. Pluronic L61 is a powerful water-in-oil emulsifier. L61 is also an excellent defoamer.
Pluronic L-61 (Poloxamer 181), a surfactant, is a nonionic triblock copolymer. It consists of a central hydrophobic chain of polyoxypropylene flanked on both sides by hydrophilic chains of polyoxyethylene.
These surfactants are commonly used in industrial applications, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. They have also been studied for various drug delivery applications and have been shown to sensitize drug-resistant cancer cells to chemotherapy.
Ungraded products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a quality suitable for general industrial or research purposes and are typically not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
